FREEDMAN, Stanton “Stan” 86 of Miami Beach passed away October 29, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Elaine Freedman, devoted father of Carrie Freedman, Andrea Bernstein, Jay Freedman & Sari Holtermann, loving grandfather of 8, Adam, Brooke & Jonathan & Brett Heimann, Daniel & Joshua Bernstein, Jordan, Brittany & Brandon Freedman, Elle & Madison Holtermann. In 2014, Stan welcomed his first great grandchild Mina Heimann. Born in Philadelphia on July 3, 1931, he was the son of Louis & Shirley Freedman & brother to Helene Levine. Prior to studying at Philadelphia College of Textiles, he served in the Korean War as an officer flying tactical missions. He returned from the war & fell in love with his lifelong love Elaine whom he married & went on to build a devoted family life with her & the children. They raised their family in Lower Merion, a suburb of Philadelphia, later moving to Miami. Stan’s passions were boating, which became a lifelong passion of yachting, family & travel. He loved to "get on the road" & adored road trips of any kind, the further the better. He was active in business until he passed. Stan was an entrepreneur in the fashion business & was one of the industry's well known early founders of what is today referred to as "7th Avenue". He was one of the greats. He will be remembered for his great sense of adventure & love of making deals. He was one of a kind.
