Steve Lesser's Obituary
Steve Lesser
It is with an incredibly heavy heart we regret we have lost our beloved Steve "Stevie" Lesser at age 61. After a brave year-long battle, he passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family in his Miami home on January 12, 2021.
He is survived by his son Dean, parents Mel and Inez Lesser, siblings David and Dana Lesser, sister Lori Heimsohen, brother-in-law Daniel Heimsohen, Aunt Cynthia Zaret and loving partner Sandy Arber. He is also survived by his four nieces and nephews.
We will all deeply miss his extraordinarily huge heart, humor, strength, warmth, charm and intelligence that he shared so effortlessly every day. A devoted father, loving partner, faithful son, caring brother and uncle, incredibly supportive friend and accomplished professional, Steve touched so many throughout his full, rich life and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Florida native through and through, Steve attended Miami Beach Senior High and Florida State University and was a huge Seminole and Miami Dolphins fan. An avid athlete, Steve enjoyed golf, fishing, skiing, along with flag football and softball, both playing and coaching, in many leagues over the years. He was also a wine connoisseur and crossword puzzle enthusiast.
An instrumental leader in the public insurance adjusting industry for over 37 years, Steve worked at Lesser and Company, Inc., Florida’s oldest public insurance adjustment firm, serving as company president for 27 years. He was also founding member and former president of the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters.
In lieu of flowers and food, please make donations in Steven J. Lesser’s name to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org, for continued research for the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma.
