I’m heartbroken to hear of Dr. K’s passing. He was such a kind and generous man, and I’ll always remember the times he let me stay over to hang out with Brianne. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and I’ll never forget his humor and how he always called me “Oh wow.” It was little things like that which showed just how special he was always making people laugh and feel comfortable around him.
Dr. K touched so many lives with his kindness and warmth. I feel incredibly lucky to have known him, and I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers go out to Brianne and the family during this time. Rest in peace, Dr. K. You’ll always be remembered with love and gratitude.
When I was a kid your father used to tease me all the time. He also used to try and scare me and Stuart. He used to tell us these scary stories about some monster. At the time we believed him.

Steve was a great friend. We met in Memphis while in optometry school. After graduation we maintained that friendship. Kogo was an excellent clinician and a loyal friend over the ensuing years. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
I met Steve when I was 37 and had eye problems. he was the best eye doctor I had ever seen. Not only was he my eye doctor he was A best friend. He knew how to live life to the fullest. He will be missed and hopefully he’s causing much mischief in heaven. Love you, STEVE keep an eye on Larry for me. You Boys are in heaven together right now.😢
My condolences to Brianne and all those who will remember Steven Koganovsky. I remember his from our days at high school at Miami Norland (Class of 1967) and most of our reunions. He was wonderful guy who will be missed by all that knew him. My his memory be a blessing to us all.

When I first met “Dr. Steve “ (as we affectionately called him), he reminded me of my father. It was something in his smile, and his gentle way of carrying himself. At that moment, I didn’t realize he would eventually become part of my family - Thanksgiving family, Christmas family, surprise birthday party celebrations family.
Most of the time we don’t choose our family. They are parents and uncles and cousins and they come along simply because we are all related. But Dr. Steve became part of my family because I wanted him there. My family wanted him there. And he belonged there.
I learned his history and his quirks and loved him like family. I will remember his generosity, his love for food and how proud he was of Brianne.
He lived QUITE a life. And I’m very glad I got to be a little part of it.
Dr. Steve was my optometrist and my friend. He always made time for me when I had questions about my eye health and vision. He loved Bob Dylan and consistently had the great singer-songwriters of the 70s playing in his office. For many years he came into Casablanca Cafe where I perform with Beth Cohen. He would request Cat Stevens “If you want to sing out, sing out.” He once helped me prepare for a comedy roast of a mutual friend. We sat for an hour brainstorming details that we would use as fodder for jokes. Dr Steve was extremely generous and supportive to his family and friends. And he loved his daughter Brianne more than anything in the whole world. He was so proud of her successes as a talented singer and a law student. Dr Steve was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.
