Clive thanx for your lovely words, I first met Stu in '83 at BL and we remained friends on and off ever since! He got in touch with me on FB a few years ago and I'd love it when he called me ..... His opening gambit was always "Adler" and I was so happy to hear his voice! I am so so sad that he felt this was the only option available, leaving 4 beautiful children. I've been thinking a lot about the past and the wonderfully funny times u had together i.e The Tappers, with Gel on look out, classic comedy gold and so much more! RIP Stu who I will miss and still cant come to terms with the whole thing. I also wish long life to Joy and Lorraine and 2 u too Clive as I also thought of you as brothers.

My name is Clive and Stuart was my friend of 35 years. The first time we meet we both came out of rehab. We meet in a meeting and Stuart was looking over at me, it took me a minute to work out who he was but after the meeting we spoke and introduced ourselves. It just happened to be that we had meet around 5 years before. From that time on we were together everyday in our early recovery. We did 90 meetings in 90 days. At that time here in London there was only 5 NA meetings. Stuart started to get really involved in trying to help NA grow. In that time the 5 meetings were all located in the same area of London. Stuart was brought up in East London felt that he needed to start a meeting in East London. From that one meeting that Stuart started there are meetings everyday all over East London. Stuart also had a very big heart and he never forgot where he came from and he was also very proud of his clean time. One memory Stuart in the early days helped many a new comer.
On one particular occasion him telling me about a friend that he had known had just come out of prison. He contacted this guy and went to his house to take him to a meeting and today that same guy is 30 years clean and sober. That is only one of many more people that Stuart helped. He carried the message. We’ve had many experiences in recovery, business. 25 years of being with each other. We’ve had good days and bad together. In that time I’ve met many a person but honestly Stuart was a one off. He was very clever, very kind, very loveling and very generous. Unfortunately our paths took us on separate ways and things got between us. Unfortunately we never spoke again. I’m very sad that we never spoke again. I’ve been left with some very fond memories and in the time that I’ve known Stuart I’ve always remembered a man that had integrity and if at any time anyone that he knew would have been in any sort of trouble he would have been there for them. I’ll always remember Stuart like a brother. If anyone reads this would like to know anymore about him please contact me. Rest In Peace Stuart.
