Susan Beth Fox, DO's Obituary
Susan Beth Fox, DO of North Miami Beach, Florida and Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Susan’s life is a story of hard work, dedication, entrepreneurism, generosity and love for her family, friends and patients. She was a big-hearted and caring person who loved most of all, her husband of 22 years, Conrad, and cherished her children, Nikolas, Andrew and Sofia. Susan was born on June 11, 1970 to Eugene and Tamara Fox in Youngstown, Ohio where she was raised with her sisters Tammy and Kathy. She was a brilliant student who graduated from University of Miami, and then received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. She completed Internal Medicine residency and Vascular Medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Susan was board certified in Internal Medicine, Vascular Medicine, and Phlebology. It was during her time in Cleveland that Susan met the love of her life, Conrad H. Simpfendorfer. They married in October 2002 and moved to North Miami Beach, Florida to start the next chapter of her life. Susan was a gifted and caring physician who specialized in vascular and venous diseases. She was one of the first physicians in the United States to be board-certified in the treatment of veins. Susan was a Diplomate of the American College of Phlebology and a Fellow of the Society of Vascular Medicine. She was very proud of the hard work and commitment she had creating and growing a very successful private medical practice. Over the past decade, Fox Vein & Laser Experts cared for and treated thousands of patients in South Florida, who appreciated Susan’s attention and expertise. She was one of the first physicians in the United States to perform the ClariVein® procedure and the first in Broward County, Florida. Her practice became a training facility for vein procedures and Dr. Fox taught many physicians and medical personnel in the treatment of venous disease for over a decade. Susan was a great friend to countless people she met throughout her life. She was an extremely generous person, and always believed that it was better to give than to receive. Susan gave to everyone. Family, friends, colleagues, patients, business owners, and strangers. She was especially fond of supporting small-business owners, tirelessly and selflessly promoting them to everyone she knew. If someone needed the name of a photographer, florist, baker, or any other service, Susan knew just the right person. However, Susan’s greatest love and adoration was towards her extended family, whom she was surrounded by every day in South Florida. She loved having a family of her own, and being a doting mother to her children, whom she loved more than anything on this earth. She was so very happy to have her parents, sisters, brothers-in-law, and all her nieces and nephews, and their young children so close to her. Her family brought her the greatest joy. Susan is survived by her husband, Conrad H. Simpfendorfer, her children Nikolas, Andrew and Sofia, her sisters Tammy Fox-Isicoff (Eric) and Kathy Haime (Daniel), and six nieces and nephews, Jamie Isicoff Miller (Brad), Jordan Isicoff (Soo Jin), Jennifer Isicoff (Peter), Alexandra Haime-Salanic (David), Nicole Haime Kamhi (Ross), and Charles Haime, and all of their children. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 18840 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33180, (305) 932-2700. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to The Eileen Youtie Foundation, https://eileenyoutiefoundation.com and Breast Cancer Research/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, with special thanks to Dr. Carmen Calfa, https://umiamihealth.org/sylvester-comprehensive-cancer-center/about-sylvester/giving.
