Susan Fried's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Susan Fried
It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to our beloved mother, Susan Fried. She was a powerful lobbyist, a campaign coordinator for Presidents, Governors, Legislators, and Miami-Dade County Judges. She was a community leader. Most importantly, we got to call her OUR MOM, GRANDMA, AND SISTER.
Susan was born in New York’s Kew Garden Hills, and she made her home first in North Miami Beach and later in Weston. She always had a keen interest in politics, and her work in political action started with the local PTA. Her efforts would go on to help lead President Bill Clinton to victory in 1992 and 1996, along with many other candidates in her decades of work. She continued reading and studying political science, attending adult education at local universities – always letting her opinion be known. She was not a wilting flower.
She fought through a cancer diagnosis many years ago and suffered for years as her health swayed. Despite these setbacks, she refused to put down her signature black “Manolo Blahnik” high heeled shoes and dark sunglasses. Up until this past year she continued to lobby for the clients she cared about and the candidates she believed in.
She adored her kids, grandchildren and family. She will be missed.
Farewell our dear Mom, Grandma, Sister and Aunt… REST IN PEACE.
