Susan "Sue" Miller's Obituary
Susan Miller of Miami Beach passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016 in the presence of loved ones, at the age of 81. As the matriarch of one of South Florida’s most philanthropic families, Sue dedicated her life to helping the most vulnerable among us. She had a passion for education, the arts, health care, human services and Jewish causes and supported them generously with both her time and resources. Sue never met a stranger and her contagious laugh and sparkling smile lit up every room she entered. Her devotion to her community was only surpassed by her love for her family. Originally from Massachusetts, Sue moved to Miami in 1955 with her husband Leonard Miller, founder of Lennar Corporation. Leonard passed away in 2002. Together, they raised three children – Stuart Miller, Leslie Miller Saiontz and Jeffrey Miller – and instilled in each of them the same commitment to service, community and family. In addition to her three children, Sue is survived by 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Ozar (Ryan Ozar), Lauren Miller, Brad Miller, David Miller, Brent Saiontz, Amanda Gluck (Daniel Gluck), Melissa Luse (Jeff Luse), Rachel Saiontz, Matt Saiontz, Anthony Miller and Lenny Miller; five great grandchildren: Oliver Ozar, Cooper Ozar, Perry Ozar, Reese Gluck and Brooks Gluck; and her sister Jean Scheinman. Services are Sunday, November 13 at 12 pm at Temple Beth Shalom, 4144 Chase Avenue, Miami Beach, followed by interment at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 Northwest 25 Street, Miami. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Arrangements by Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 865-2353
