Sydel Coslow's Obituary
Sadly, Sydel Coslow, with her family around her, passed away with dignity and grace on July 16, 2017.
Sydel was born in Far Rockaway, NY on 10-15-1923, lived in Swanton, VT with her parents, Leona and Joseph Pearl, older sister, Ethel (Schildhaus), and older brother Elliot.
Sydel graduated from Mt. Sinai School of Nursing in New York in 1946, and continued to work until her retirement in 1988. Nursing was her passion, we often said "You are the Florence Nightingale of nursing". Our mother brought to the profession empathy, compassion, and she was the "consummate caregiver".
Sydel married, the love of her life, Maurice Coslow in 1951, and they had 2 daughters. Maurice died in 2002, and he is lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Sydel was an avid reader, who loved the arts, classical music, ballet, and mostly, her family and friends.
Sydel is survived by her daughters Rabbi Enid Lader (Harry), and Deborah Fox (Robert), and her loving grandchildren, Leah (Ananth) Uggirala, Dr. Abby Lader, Aaron Fox, and Jared Fox (Melissa), and precious great-grandchildren, Leela, Anjali, and her newest and youngest, Blake.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution be made to Trustbridge, Boca Care Center, Hospice By The Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
A chapel service will be held 12pm on July 18, 2017 at Levitt-Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 7500 N. State Road 7, Coconut Creek, FL 33073. Interment following the service at Temple Beth El Memorial Gardens, 4900 Griffin Road, Davie, FL 33314.
