Tersa Agard's Obituary
Tersa Agard (nee Seitchik) beloved mother, sister, cousin, friend and notable
designer and artist passed away on November 3 in Delray Florida. Tersa is
survived by her sons David (Lisa) Agard and Steven Agard, her brother, Jerry Seitchik
and his family Bonnie, Meredith, Wendi, her dear cousin Sandi Alloy, and her
dearest companion Julie Spencer. She is preceded in death by her husband
Marvin Agard. Tersa met life with a spirit of generosity and love with equal
measures of elan and style. She was inspiration to many and will be sorely
missed by all who knew her.
Tersa was born in Philadelphia to Lillian and William Seitchik. She graduated
from Penn State and shortly afterwards joined the at Nan Duskins where she was
one of a select number of contemporary female copy editors. She married her
first and only husband Marvin Agard, in 1950. After moving to Wilmington,
Delaware Tersa and Marvin had two sons who they raised with great love and
devotion. Tersa and Marvin subsequently moved to Cherry Hill, NJ, Dallas
Texas, Boca Raton, FL and finally Delray Beach, Florida.
Tersa was an accomplished artist and sculptor expressing herself in paint,
ceramics and glass. In her 80‘s she was exhibited as an emerging artist at a
glass gallery famed for its collection of Chihuly and other contemporary stars. For
most of her life Tersa was an extraordinarily innovative interior designer gracing
homes in the Philadelphia, Dallas, South Jersey, and South Florida areas. She
was an extraordinary friend and drew people to her by her genuine kindness,
verve for life, and charismatic manner.
The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday November 7 at 10:45 am at Eternal Light
Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach FL at 11520 State Road 7 with a
reception to follow at Harbour’s Edge, 401 E. Linton Blvd., Delray Beach from
1pm-2:30. Rabbi Barry Sliver will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to
attend and celebrate Tersa's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the
