Theodore James Hartrick's Obituary
Theodore James Hartrick
It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our precious son, Theodore James Hartrick. Tad (aka Tadster ) suddenly passed away on July 26, 2022, at home. Tad was born on November 5th, 2017 with HLHS (hypoplastic left heart syndrome) and CHARGE Syndrome at South Miami Hospital under the watchful eye of his dedicated Pediatric Cardiologist Dr. Abdulwahab Aldousany, aka Dr. Aldo.
He was immediately transferred to Nicklaus Children's Hospital, Miami, FL. After surgery by the renowned pediatric cardiac surgeon, Dr. Redmond Burke, he was cared for by Dr. Aldo and the wonderful staff in the CICU for 7 months. The family is extremely grateful for the care and support of the medical and nursing staff of Nicklaus Children's Hospital. When Tad was finally ready to go home, Lauren Clancy, Tad’s great aunt, welcomed Tad and his mom and dad, Micheleen Clancy and Tyler Hartrick, into her home in Quayside. The loving bond forged between this new family grew strong and Tad became a favorite among friends and neighbors.
Tad was a very special soul who faced many challenges due to his various diagnoses which required many surgeries, procedures, hospital visits, doctor's appointments, and therapy. Micheleen and Tyler were devoted parents, making sure Tad received the best care possible.
They would like to thank the many people who walked with them along this journey. Jonathan Rosada, RN was Tad's homecare nurse for his first 3 years home, then Eduardo (Eddie) Tamargo, RN took over and both provided loving care to Tad. Kristy Fernandez, from Rio's Place, was Tad's Behavioral Therapist for the past 8 months and they just adored each other. Tad’s current therapists: Maria OT, Christy SLP, Francesca SLP, Rebecca SLP, and so many others that helped him along his way.
Micheleen and Tyler would especially like to thank Tad’s Pediatric Cardiologist Dr. Aldo (Dr. Abdulwahab Aldousany), who was devoted and dedicated to Tad’s well-being. Dr. Aldo was always available on his cell to answer any questions, any concerns and it was his dedication and compassion to his patients that made Tad’s 4+ year journey as a Heart Warrior possible.
Micheleen and Tyler would also like to thank the community at Quayside who cheered Tad on with waves, puppies, and smiles and tolerated his invasion of the lobbies, garages, security operations room, and tennis courts, not to forget his piano playing in the Great House! He loved you all and you made his life a little brighter!
Most of all Micheleen and Tyler would like to thank Lauren for her generosity and care, for welcoming them into her home, and mostly for her love for Tad. Aunt Lauren was Tad’s favorite without a doubt! He loved following her around the house and always wanted to be where she was. They had a special bond and both their lives were made richer for it.
Although Tad required a lot of care, he also gave a lot of love! He had the sweetest disposition. Always smiling, always ready to learn something new, explore a new place or meet a new person. His joy was infectious and one couldn’t be around him without wanting to smile or join his adventure.
He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him, not only his Mom and Dad and Aunt Lauren, but also by the Clancy family; his great grandfather Pop-pop, his grandparents Michael and Melissa, his Aunts Lexi and Talor, Uncle MacCuilinn, and all their surrounding families. He will also be missed by the Hartrick family, his grandparents Tom and Angie Hartrick, his uncles Dustin and Brad, and their families. Tad had many extended family members that always cheered him on. Tad also had many local and world-wide friends which followed his journey on Instagram who provided support and encouragement, forever #TeamTad.
Tad was a wonderful little spirit who lived his best life possible thanks to so many who poured into his life. He beat the odds of survival from the day he was born. We were blessed to be around such a miracle for so long. We celebrate Tad’s life with grateful tears.
