Walter Wolf Kaplan's Obituary
Kaplan, Walter Wolf, 75, of Golden Beach, FL, passed away on August 2nd in Aventura, Florida. He was born on April 12, 1939 in Lowell, MA to Harry and Anne (née Goldman) Kaplan.
Walter grew up in Lowell, MA. He graduated from Lawrence Academy in Groton, Massachusetts. After high school he attended The University of Pennsylvania where he received a doctoral degree in Law. He later opened The Law Offices of Walter Wolf Kaplan. The firm had offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Boston. He worked as a lawyer for over 20 years before he retired. He battled Parkinson’s disease for many years with dignity and grace. With his wit, humor and charm, Walter was always teaching others how special life is.
Walter married Linda Brown in 1978 in Hollywood, Florida. They were happily married for over 28 years. Walter was a member of The Florida Law Bar and was involved with many charities and philanthropies in South Florida. He received numerous awards for his advocate activities towards human rights.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife Linda Brown-Kaplan; his loving children: Eric Kaplan and Alexandra ( Fiancee Neil Brodie) Kaplan; his devoted brothers: Murray (Helayne) Kaplan and the late Frederick Kaplan; Brother in law Gerald (Becky) Smilovitz; and his wonderful cousins: the Kaplans, the Greenbergs, the Cheruns, the Brombergs, the Kauffmans, the Salomons, the Hollands, the Tatz’es. He will be greatly missed by so many other relatives and friends .
