William D. Cohen's Obituary
COHEN
William D. passed away peacefully, Monday, December 3rd, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He is survived by his wife Melanie Leary Cohen, three children Roni Cohen (Meyer) Liberman, Jeffrey (Mondana) Cohen and Lewis (Holly) Cohen and five grandchildren: Elyse Liberman; Lauren Cohen, Jason Cohen, Jessica Cohen and Phillip Cohen. His parents, Louis and Eva Cohen, and two brothers, Max Cohen and James Cohen, pre-deceased him.Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY and attended schools in New York and Arizona. After serving in World War II with the U.S. Army, he entered the family textile business in New York. In 1956, he and his family moved to South Florida where he resided for the remainder of his life. He and partner Ronald Ager, through Cohen-Ager, Inc., developed and built commercial properties in the Miami area. The firm remained in business for nearly 50 years.Bill’s main passion in life was his family to whom he was deeply devoted throughout his life and who in turn loved and cherished him. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed cooking and traveling the world.
