To explain the photos:
Dr. Yehuda Shamir started life as Yehuda Szwimer son of Annya Bergman from Sosnovitch Poland who was the first chair violinist of the first Philharmonic orchestra of Israel. His father was Berele Szwimer from Bedzine Poland who was in the Jewish Brigade. Yehuda joined the IDF after his yeshiva studies, serving in a Golani unit.
He went on to get 2 PHD's & a rabbinical degree. Yehuda spoke Polish, German, English, Hebrew, Arabic, French, Italian, & Yiddish fluently. He read in Latin, Aramaic & Russian & Spanish easily. He was incredible with numbers. An expert numerologist who was as comfortable with physics as he was with philosophy.
