Dr. Marcia Hope Bierman
December 23, 1947 - March 30, 2022
Dr. Marcia Hope Bierman passed away on March 30, 2022 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Marcia, the eldest of three daughters, was born on December 23, 1947 in Brooklyn New York to Muriel and Leon Bierman, who predeceased her. A precocious child who preferred to read rather than do anything else, Marcia was a beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, daughter and granddaughter, and friend. She dedicated her professional life to internal medicine with her unfailing focus on patient care above all else. Marcia touched many lives and almost all who knew her, loved her. She will be sorely missed by her family: her sister, Susan Tyler; her sister Carole LaColla and her husband Bob LaColla; their children Danielle sons Andrew and Aidan; Kyle (Mike) daughters Izada and Lena; Robert (Cindy) daughters Maya and Abigail. She will also be deeply missed by her dear friends (who are really her extended family.) Marcia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, listening to classic rock music or show tunes, cooking for others, and exploring foods of other cultures. Marcia also cared very deeply about the treatment of animals. Marcia will be remembered for many things, but mostly for her strength, and her devotion and love of her family (furry and human) and friends. To honor Marcia’s memory, please consider making a donation to Foundation Order of Malta (Medical Missions), Doctors Without Borders, the ASPCA, a local animal shelter, or a nature or animal preserve of your choosing. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10 am at the Levitt Weinstein Blasberg Rubin Zilbert Memorial Chapel, 18840 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33180 (305) 932-2700.
