Yossef "Yossi" Itzhak

Yossef 'Yossi' Itzhak, of Miami Fl, passed away on April 9th, 2022. Yossi was born on May 18,1950 to Meir Itzhak and Ester Garti in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Yossi grew up in Israel with his family and went on to study at the Hebrew University, School of Pharmacy, in Jerusalem where he earned his Bachelors and Masters. Yossi continued his education at Tel Aviv University where he earned his Ph.D. After graduating he moved his young family to America and persued his dreams and a prestigious career. Yossi became a tenured Research Professor in Neurobiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine where he eventually retired from after 27 years. During his time at the University of Miami Yossi served as a mentor to many students and published in multiple scientific journals. After retiring Yossi enjoyed his time with his grandsons, cooking, going to the beach, and painting, as he did in his younger years. Yossi was predeceased by his mother and father. Yossi is survived by his sister Linda Farhang, former spouse Tova Itzhak, daughters Milly and Amira, and grandsons Ty and Joseph.
