I always felt that Aunt Carol understood me better than the other adults when I was a kid. One day, when Aunt Carol and Uncle Stan were visiting, my parents were complaining about how messy I kept my bedroom. Aunt Carol said, “Then keep her door closed. You have to pick your battles. If there aren’t dirty dishes and it’s just messy…let her have it.” member sitting in my room thinking, “she totally gets me!”
