David Stanley Liff's Obituary
David Stanley Liff left us Sunday, July 23, 2017 after a brief illness.
He was born June 17,1950 in Cleveland,Ohio. He attended Cleveland Heights High School and graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, with a minor in Mathematics. He broke numerous records for their football team, The Yellow Jackets, playing linebacker. He worked his way through Ohio for the railroad, through Martha's Vineyard selling vacuum cleaners, and Cincinnati for a wholesale fruit and vegetable market and then in the late 1970's he joined his mother and sister in Miami where he eventually became the manager/buyer of Laurenzo's Farmer's Market, for 24 years. Here he met the love of his life Roma.
He relaxed as hard as he worked. Roma and David traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada, visiting every state but three.Their travels were concentrated on the National Parks in the mountain states and Canadian provinces. In addition, they visited Europe and Mexico several times. David used his math background in retirement playing in a bridge club at the Jewish Community Center. No longer lifting heavy weights as he did in his youth, he remained active working out with light weights, walking, swimming and playing basketball, and playing with his beloved German Shepard dogs: Leiba, Sabra, Angel, Seikie, Aspen and last but not least, his most recent dog, Glacier. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Liff, his mother, Betty Liff,
his brother James Liff, and his nephew Adam Thilem. He is survived by his wife and love of over thirty two years, Romana Liff, his sister Harriet Gutter, and his niece Natalie Burkhaulter.
