As a long-time and avid Corset Corner customer, I will never forget walking in one day in the late 1980’s when Mrs. Lurie noticed my new engagement ring. It had an upright setting and I worried out loud that it might be too big. Mrs. Lurie took my hand in here, looked me in the eye and said, with that fabulous Brooklyn accent, “Honey, when a gentleman gives you jewelry, smile, say thank you and put it on. And remember—diamonds shrink when washed.”
She later added, that in the event of a gift of jewelry one doesn't like, that it need only be worn once.
I have heeded both facets advice for all the years since that day, in addition to her expert guidance as to intimate apparel. Corset Corner was a treasure and so was Mrs. Lurie. May her memory be a blessing to her family and friends.
