Dolores Lurie's Obituary
Dolores Lurie, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was born September 9, 1931, was a proud mother, doting wife and the owner of Corset Corner on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables for over 46 years. She was born in the business when her parents opened their first store on Kings Highway in 1931. Dolores brought the business to Coral Gables when she married the love of her life, Bud, in 1959. Corset Corner was an intimate apparel store that specialized in services for breast cancer survivors, surgical garments, bras, lingerie and everything in between. Corset Corner serviced the community, ultimately becoming the largest independent intimate apparel business in the country at over 8,000 square feet. Her customers would tell her their first stop from the airport was Corset Corner. She would always go the extra mile to please, providing personal service, including providing what arguably could be considered the first padded push-up bra that she would make in house for the airline stewardess. It was the end of an era when she retired in 2003 to Boca Raton. Predeceased by husband Bud Lurie, she is survived by her 2 sons Brandon (Stella) Lurie, Steven Lurie, brother Martin Greenberg, grandchildren Lauren Lurie Jove (Ryan Jove), Amanda Lurie, Tyler Lurie, Sean Lurie, and great-granddaughter Georgia Jove.
Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 .a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Doral, Florida. Arrangements by Levitt-Weinstein Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert Memorial Chapel (305) 932-2700.
