Anita Thomas Leitch
As another Thomas sister I had the utmost privilege of having “Miss Russell” as my babysitter. She was so much more than a babysitter and was such a part of my life growing up. She was so loving and caring and was a wonderful influence.
I remember Mr. Russell often driving and going with “Miss Russell”, my little sister, and I out to supper and sometimes a little shopping. Then he would drop us back off at our home. They were such a loving couple and were so cute together.
“Miss Russell” would do anything we wanted to do. She was fun and often played Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders with us.
When she made tea and toast for us she had the butter soft first so it would spread good on the toast. Anytime I make her type of toast I think of her and often comment saying “that is the way Miss Russell taught me to make it”. I had just done that days before she passed away. ☺️
I also often tell the story of how “Miss Russell” would tickle my feet until I was asleep. She was very precious.
I too loved to hear her stories of Michael, Marie, and Leonard, and was blessed to get to meet them all over the years and get an insight into their special relationships.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. I am comforted knowing she is in heaven with her George. She has remained in my heart all of my life, and will certainly continue to be there. I loved her!
