Howard Katzen was the kindest, most noble and respectful person I have ever worked for. Howard hired me in 1984 and gave me many opportunities to learn and grow within Norton Tire. When I found out I was having a baby within a year of my hire, Howard was very happy for my husband and I, and even visited me in the hospital bringing generous gifts for my son and me. He allowed me to come back to work part time until I felt I could leave my baby for full time work. This was not a real company policy, but Howard made it possible.
Those were the days when some female employees experienced harassment, but I was so fortunate to work for this man who always managed his employees with respect, recognizing their strengths, and was a role model for me in developing successful business skills. His kindness will never be forgotten. My sympathy for Mrs. Katzen and her family, in this great loss.
