KAUFMAN, Howard G., 91 of Miami Beach passed away May 11, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Rae Kaufman, loving father of Marsha (Tom) McMurrain, Gale Kaufman (Steve Murakami), Maxine Kaufman, dear grandfather of Elyse Spector, David Kaufman, Melinda Wiser, Michele Leibee, David McMurrain, Michael & Sean Murakami, adored great-grandfather of Maddie & Skyler Smith, Hudson & Ethan Spector, Hannah & Sarah Wiser, Blake Leibee & Brooke Parker.
Howard grew up in Philadelphia, PA where he met & married Rae. After honeymooning in Miami Beach, they settled there years later, where they raised their family. Theirs was a 61 year love affair. Howard missed her every day since she passed in 2010.
Devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and tennis coach extraordinaire to kids throughout the community, Howard was a fixture in the Miami Beach political scene. He was a member and photographer for the Miami Beach Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club. He and Dwight Stephenson co-founded Dwight’s Computers for Kids. He was an avid blogger and touched the lives of so many kids who remember him as their father figure, mentor and friend.
