Marlowe Jay Blake's Obituary
.BLAKE, MARLOWE JAY of Boca Raton, FL sadly passed away on January 4th, 2018 after battling pancreatic cancer. Marlowe was 65. Marlowe defined compassion, intellectual rigor, curiosity, and intensely loved his family and friends.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 9th, 1952 to the late Harvey Blake and Audrey Blake (Janofsky). He graduated from Cherry Hill High School West and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University in 1976. Marlowe went on to attend the University of Miami School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctorate in 1978. He spent the better part of 30 year career advocating on behalf of his clients as independent attorney.
Marlowe is survived by his daughter Laura Blake Pehoski, grandson Franklin Clark Pehoski, brother Richard Blake, mother Audrey Blake, nephew Chase Blake, and late nephew Ian Blake.
Aside from his family and career, Marlowe had a passion for current events and politics, educating himself on survival skills and tactics, and enjoyed ju-jitsu. He was a lover of dogs, and owned many unique, larger breeds over the course of his life. He also enjoyed action / adventure movies of all kinds, especially those that he spent watching with his daughter Laura. Marlowe will forever be remembered by his infectious smile, his unique theories on an array of subjects, and his tough exterior that enveloped his loving and selfless heart.
Memorial services were held in Coconut Creek, FL at the Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel on January 8, 2018. His brother and daughter will be sitting shiva January 8th – 10th from 5pm – 9pm at his brother’s house in Boca Raton, FL. Contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.cff.org).
