Martin Senft's Obituary
Martin Senft of Aventura Florida passed away on Monday August 3 2015 at the age of 89. Born in Brooklyn NY son of Samuel and Fay Senft and brother to Sheldon (pre-deceased). Marty, as he was known to everyone, is and always will be a Marine. He served his country during the WWII as a Marine Combat Corpsman in the Pacific in battles on Sipan, Tinian, Guam, Okinawa in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th Marine Corps Division. He was with the 5th Marine Corps Divison, the first troops landing on Nagasaki after the bomb was dropped that helped in the war. Marty was a NYC medallioned Taxi Fleet owner/operator before retiring in 1975 where he then moved to Aventura Florida together with his wife Eileen. Later on in his 80’s he volunteered his services to the Aventura Police Department in addition to training to be a first responder. Marty was an avid tennis player who enjoyed his time on the courts with his close friends, and Wednesday afternoon Lunches at Moes. As Dad, he was also a lover of boating and infected his children with the love of Boating as well. He volunteered as a safe boating instructor for the Miami Beach Power Squadron. Marty attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and Long Island University. Marty leaves behind his wife of 65 years Eileen, Son Gary, Daughter Laura, Son Mitchel and daughter-in-law Karen. Loved and adored by his Grand Children Samantha, Harrison, Teddy, Jonathan, Jessie and Jackie. Chapel Service 2 pm Tuesday, August 4 at Beth David Memorial Gardens in Hollywood Florida.
