I was saddened to hear of Russ' passing. Russ was beloved by our Toastmasters group in Ft Lauderdale during the early '90s. A few of us would socialize after meetings and outside of the Club. Russ brought Nadine to our Club before he relocated and it was clear this was a match made in heaven. I'm glad to have known Russ and share your loss. -Rob Slotkin
To all of Russel's family; Today, I watched the service for Russell on Zoom. Russel, whom I had not seen in so many years, but with whom I got to spend some really nice times as teens when he still lived on Long Island. That service was a beautiful mix of warmth, sincerity, deep love, admiration, and, (not unusual for the Jewish people,) several moments of appropriate lightheartedness, all of which really put Russ's character, as I remember him, in perspective. Frankly, it left a feeling of regret in my heart, wishing I would have been able to enjoy times with Russ beyond what we had in our youth. I will now cherish, even more, my memories of all of us together in all of " the cousins' " houses. Russ and Sharon's home was the first to which I was invited when I was "introduced" to that gang, From the very first moment, he was, indeed, just as he was portrayed today... very entertaining, full of song and fabulous goofiness. The first time he saw me, he had come to the door making monster noises, something Sharon and I rehash every once and a while. Russel was kind, smart and a good friend. Rest in peace, lovely Russel.
Russel will be missed. We were "buds" at work and made many trips for coffee! We even walked a few utility easements. Russ see you on the other side. My deepest condolences to his Family.
