Tonya Dea Wood-Olin's Obituary
Tonya Dea Wood-Olin was a loving daughter to Glenn David and Karen Wood. She was born on September 14, 1964, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is now resting peacefully in God’s hands.
Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Dave Wood.
A 1982 graduate of North Branch High School and a proud alumna of Central Michigan University, Tonya devoted over 30 years to teaching. She touched countless lives in various schools, lovingly referring to her students as “her kids” and always offering them her kind and caring spirit.
In her spare time, she opened her heart and home to many rescued dogs, fostering them with deep compassion.
Tonya will be deeply missed by her mother, Karen Wood of North Branch; her brothers, Troy (Debra) Wood of Royal Oak and Terry Wood of Livonia; and her sister, Tracey (Ron) Hunt of Lapeer. She was a devoted and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews: Avery Wood of Royal Oak; Anthony, Thora, and her great-niece Delaney; Silvia and Ronny of Lapeer; and Elijah (Khalia) Hunt of Grand Blanc. Tonya’s final chapter was written in Hollywood, Florida, where she lived with her husband, Mitch Olin. The two happily married on September 6, 2020, and she was a bonus addition to his family, including his children, Josh and Syd Olin.
Tonya leaves behind a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
